  • Do you have a Google Analytics account already?
  • Do you have a Google Account (Gmail)? If so, can you share the credentials with us? If not, may we create one?
  • What is your company name? Website? Industry? Time zone?
  • Do you have multiple sites we are going to track?
  • What content management system do you use for your website? WordPress, Wix etc.? May we have these credentials?


Step 1 :    Go to and click "Sign Up".

Step 2 :    Login to your Google account.

Step 3 :    If you do not have a Google account, please go to and select "Sign In" on the top right corner and then "Create account". Follow the prompts to create a new account.

Step 4 :    Select "Website" and fill in your Account Name, which typically is your company name.

Step 5 :    Set up a property by filling in the Website Name, Website URL, Industry Category and Reporting Time Zone.

Step 6 :    Review Data Sharing settings and select “Get Tracking ID”.

Step 7 :    Accept the Google Analytics Terms of Service Agreement.

Step 8 :    You officially have the Google Analytics account and tracking code.

Step 9 :    Now you need to install the tracking code on your website. Here are two options:

Step 10 :    a. Install Tracking Code on WordPress using Google Analytics by MonsterInsights.

Step 11 :    Go to your wp-admin -> Plugins -> Add New and type into the search bar "Google Analytics by MonsterInsights". Select "Activate" to activate the plugin.

Step 12 :    Navigate to the tab in wp-admin called "Insights" and select "Connect MonsterInsights".

Step 13 :    Make sure you are logged in to your Google account and then select "Allow".

Step 14 :    Select "Complete Connection".

Step 15 :    In wp-admin -> Insights, navigate down and select "Launch Setup Wizard".

Step 16 :    Follow the prompts by choosing all of the default options and skipping whenever given the option to skip.

Step 17 :    b. Install Tracking Code on a Custom Website.

Step 18 :    Navigate to your Google Analytics account and go to the tab "Admin".

Step 19 :    Go to Account Settings -> Tracking Info -> Tracking Code and copy the Global Site Tag.

Step 20 :    Navigate to your website files and find the file that is loaded on every page of your website. This is often called the header.php file.

Step 21 :    Paste the tracking script before the main header function and save on your server.

Step 22 :    Navigate back to the Google Analytics Admin (Account Settings -> Tracking Info -> Tracking Code) and select the button called "Send Test Traffic".
